Veterinary Team

The Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) is responsible for full time institutional veterinary care. Adequate veterinary care is ensured through the employment of veterinarians and veterinary technicians who are trained and experienced in laboratory animal medicine and biomedical research using the species and procedures utilized at GU.

Husbandry Team

The Husbandry Services team is dedicated to providing excellent care of laboratory animals. We embrace the standards set forth by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC International), the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals (1996 edition), and the principles and practices of the Veterinary profession.

Business Team

The DCM Business Office is responsible for animal ordering, cage card production, invoicing, granting access into the facility, maintaining requests and assisting principal investigators, students, staff and visitors.  

The DCM establishes rates based on cost principles for educational institutions, specifically the guidance of OMB Circular A-21 and the NIH Cost Analysis and Rate Setting Manual for Animal Research Facilities.

FY 2024 Fees (Please note: rates are subject to increases in the range of 6% percent per year in each of FY25, FY26, and FY27. )
